Which Lego Star Wars helmet should you buy?

🗓 Published:

A Lego Star Wars helmet is a small display project, not a wearable helmet and not a substitute for a minifigure play scene. The useful buying question is which character you want on your shelf, how much space you have, and what you are prepared to pay for that exact model. Completing the whole series is optional.

  • Metallic-look display: The Mandalorian 75328.
  • Hoth and the original trilogy: AT-AT Driver 75429.
  • Prequels and an adjustable rangefinder: Jango Fett 75408.
  • Dark sequel-trilogy design: Kylo Ren 75415.
  • Black-and-white design from The Mandalorian and Grogu: Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver 75458.

All five models are marked 18+, include a display stand with a nameplate and were available in the official US store on 30 September 2026. That is not a guarantee of stock at every retailer or a retirement forecast. The dimensions above are published as “over” the stated measurements; leave clearance rather than treating them as exact cabinet limits. This is a buyer shortlist, not a ranking by expected resale return.

The Mandalorian Helmet 75328: the metallic-look choice

The Mandalorian’s helmet uses drum-lacquered metallic-look elements and gray contouring to recreate its recognizable surface. With 584 pieces, it offers a relatively compact display subject: over 18 cm high, 11 cm wide and 12 cm deep. The appeal is the combination of shape and finish, rather than a moving feature.

Choose it if this is the character you immediately associate with a Star Wars helmet. Its silver-and-gray appearance also gives a different shelf impression from the predominantly dark Kylo Ren design. However, decorative finish is not a play function. If the recipient wants vehicles, figures or scenes to act out, a display helmet answers the wrong brief even if they love the series.

We built and tested The Mandalorian Helmet 75328 ourselves. Our Brickfact recommendation is to buy it for that familiar silhouette and metallic-look finish, not to treat it as a miniature substitute for a larger character bust.

AT-AT Driver Helmet 75429: for a Hoth display

The AT-AT Driver connects the model directly to the pilots of the walkers in The Empire Strikes Back. It contains 730 pieces and measures over 20 cm high, 13 cm wide and 13 cm deep. This is the choice for someone whose favourite Star Wars setting is Hoth, rather than a main named character.

Its wider published dimensions matter beside other ornaments on a narrow shelf. Do not choose it solely because it contains more pieces than The Mandalorian: those pieces serve a different helmet shape. The relevant advantage is the subject. A Hoth fan gets a more personally meaningful display than they would from a cheaper character they do not particularly care about.

Jango Fett Helmet 75408: colour and an adjustable rangefinder

Jango Fett’s helmet recreates the bounty hunter from Attack of the Clones and includes an adjustable rangefinder antenna. Its 616 pieces form a display model over 21 cm high, 12 cm wide and 11 cm deep. That antenna is a distinctive feature, not evidence that the helmet is designed for rough play.

Choose Jango if you prefer the prequel connection and the blue-and-silver identity to The Mandalorian’s appearance. It is also the clear selection when the rangefinder is the detail you want to build and inspect. Check overhead space: the shallow published depth does not cancel out its taller profile. Do not confuse this box with the older Boba Fett model; similar helmet families do not make the characters interchangeable.

Kylo Ren Helmet 75415: a dark sequel-trilogy display

Kylo Ren’s model uses special elements with printed silver decoration to capture the helmet’s distinctive markings. It contains 529 pieces and measures over 18 cm high, 11 cm wide and 13 cm deep. The set focuses on the helmet seen in The Force Awakens, making it the natural option for a sequel-trilogy fan.

This has the lowest piece count in the shortlist, but that alone does not establish the easiest build, the shortest building time or the lowest current price. Small elements can serve detailed contours, and retailer offers vary. Choose the black-and-silver design because you want it on display. If dark objects disappear against your shelf background, consider the viewing position before ordering.

Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet 75458: a different black-and-white silhouette

The Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver helmet comes from The Mandalorian and Grogu. Its streamlined black-and-white design distinguishes it from both the Hoth pilot and the metallic-look Mandalorian helmet. The model contains 775 pieces and measures over 18 cm high, 11 cm wide and 14 cm deep.

This is a useful choice if the specific design appeals to you more than an established named character. It is not merely an interchangeable white Imperial helmet: compare the finished silhouette and the set number. Its published depth is the largest of these five references, so check the space between the shelf back and its front edge even though its width looks compact.

Budget: compare delivered prices for your favourites

For a budget-led purchase, shortlist two characters you genuinely like and compare their current local offers. US and UK sellers can have different totals and stock. The cheapest qualifying offer can change without changing the model, so use the product cards for the selected country rather than assigning one helmet a permanent “budget winner” label.

Set your maximum delivered price before comparing sellers. Include shipping and any applicable tax, then compare only the exact helmet you want. A low piece count does not promise a low price, and a large percentage discount is less informative than the actual total you will pay. The product cards can help you find offers; reopen the seller’s page to confirm stock and delivery timing.

If two favourites fit your ceiling, choose the character first and the display fit second. Do not turn a one-helmet purchase into a larger order just to complete a colour pairing. For a gift, check which helmets the recipient already owns, whether they enjoy building, and whether they have somewhere to put the result. The 18+ marking is an adult product recommendation, not a timed difficulty rating.

The included stand means you do not need to buy a separate base to display these models. A cabinet, lighting or a dust cover is optional and should be budgeted separately if you want it. No helmet here needs an added purchase simply to become the intended stand-mounted display.

Older helmets belong in a separate collector decision

Darth Vader 75304 was sold out in the official US store on 30 September 2026; other regions had different statuses. Older Stormtrooper, TIE Fighter Pilot and Boba Fett helmets are retired collector choices, not default current-store recommendations. A remaining retailer copy does not make a retired model part of ordinary current supply.

If a particular retired character is essential, compare condition and completeness as carefully as price. Ask whether the stand, nameplate and model-specific decorative pieces are present, and distinguish sealed from opened or assembled copies. A seller’s asking price is not proof of what buyers actually pay. Retirement alone does not guarantee appreciation or make an expensive listing a sensible purchase.

A short final decision

Start with your favourite character or era, eliminate any model that will not fit, then compare delivered prices for the remaining exact set numbers. The Mandalorian is the metallic-look option; AT-AT Driver is the Hoth choice; Jango adds the adjustable rangefinder; Kylo brings printed silver details; the AT-RT Driver offers the streamlined black-and-white design.

For the wider display range and current offers, compare the helmet catalogue. For vehicles, playsets and the rest of the theme, use the Star Wars catalogue. This guide deliberately stays with choosing one display helmet, without promising investment returns or reproducing the entire Star Wars catalogue.
