Lego® Harry Potter has produced large playsets, display models and recreations of individual locations. This ranking compares them on one fixed measure: the published number of pieces. It therefore places a microscale castle, a full train and a row of shops in the same list without treating their very different formats as equivalent in every other respect.
Only individual retail sets are counted. Bundles and accessory packs are excluded, and each model is identified by its set number. The ten entries run from 2,405 to 6,020 pieces.

1. Hogwarts Castle (71043)
Hogwarts Castle has led this ranking since its release in 2018. Its 6,020 pieces form a microscale interpretation of the school, with the Great Hall, towers, classrooms and underground chambers represented within the model. Smaller builds for the Whomping Willow and Hagrid’s hut extend the scene beyond the castle walls.
Most of the inhabitants are microfigures suited to the scale. The four conventional minifigures depict the Hogwarts founders and sit on a separate display stand. This mix makes the set a castle model first, rather than a minifigure-scale playset. Twenty-seven microfigures populate the rooms and grounds, letting the castle suggest many film scenes without changing scale.

2. Diagon Alley (75978)
The 2020 Diagon Alley contains 5,544 pieces. Four connected buildings recreate a long shopping street, including Ollivanders, Flourish and Blotts, Quality Quidditch Supplies and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Their detailed shopfronts conceal interiors arranged for minifigure-scale scenes.
The sections can stand in a straight row or be positioned differently to suit the available shelf space. Fourteen minifigures populate the shops, so the model approaches its subject as a busy street rather than a single landmark. The open backs keep each shop interior visible when the four façades are displayed together.

3. Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition (76405)
Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition was released in 2022 with 5,129 pieces. The build comprises the steam locomotive, tender and passenger carriage, together with a section of Platform 9¾. It is a large display interpretation of the train rather than a motorised model for standard Lego® railway track.
Scenes inside the carriage refer to different journeys from the films, and the platform gives the train a setting of its own. The long, low format is unlike every building in the top ten. A display base carries the train and track as one finished composition, rather than leaving the locomotive loose.

4. Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition (76417)
Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition dates from 2023 and contains 4,803 pieces. The bank building sits above a deep underground section of vaults and minecart track. This vertical cutaway is as prominent as the ornate façade, and a brick-built Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon can be displayed on top.
A separate Magical Menagerie shop completes the street-level scene. The model can also connect with the 2020 Diagon Alley set, although it remains a complete retail set and is ranked here on its own piece count. The split between street level and the caverns below gives the model the tallest vertical arrangement in this top ten.

5. Ministry of Magic – Collectors’ Edition (76476)
Ministry of Magic – Collectors’ Edition enters the list in fifth place. The 2026 set contains 3,491 pieces and is the largest Lego® Harry Potter model of the Ministry by piece count.
Its arrival pushes Hogwarts Icons down one place and raises the threshold for the upper half of the ranking above 3,000 pieces. The Ministry is also a different kind of subject from the castles, shops and railway around it: a single wizarding institution represented as a collector model. Its 2026 date also makes it the newest set in the upper half of the list.

6. Hogsmeade Village – Collectors’ Edition (76457)
Hogsmeade Village – Collectors’ Edition was released in 2025 with 3,228 pieces. It brings the snow-covered wizarding village into the ranking, separating it from the Diagon Alley shopping sets through its location and architecture.
At sixth place it is the largest village-focused Harry Potter set in this comparison. Its piece total puts it above Hogwarts Icons but below the 2026 Ministry of Magic, two display sets with very different silhouettes. The collectors’ label distinguishes this edition from earlier, smaller Hogsmeade playsets.

7. Hogwarts Icons – Collectors’ Edition (76391)
Hogwarts Icons – Collectors’ Edition uses 3,010 pieces to build a still life rather than a location. Released in 2021, it centres on Hedwig and groups together recognisable objects including books, Harry’s glasses and wand, potion bottles, a Golden Snitch and a Hogwarts scarf.
Three golden minifigures of Dumbledore, McGonagall and Hagrid accompany the display. Because the objects overlap and support one another, the finished model reads as a single arrangement despite the number of separate references. A display stand gives the three gold figures a dedicated place beside the larger collection of objects.

8. Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops (76444)
Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops was released in 2025 with 2,750 pieces. It revisits the shopping street at a smaller total than set 75978 and is a distinct product, not an expansion pack counted together with the older model.
Its place below Hogwarts Icons and above Hogwarts Castle and Grounds follows the published piece totals. The shared Diagon Alley subject makes the set number especially important when comparing listings: 76444 and 75978 refer to separate interpretations from different years. The repeated location makes year and set number more useful identifiers than the shortened name alone.

9. Hogwarts Castle and Grounds (76419)
Hogwarts Castle and Grounds, released in 2023, contains 2,660 pieces. It presents the school and surrounding landscape at microscale, including the lake, bridge, boathouse and other structures beyond the main castle.
The model is substantially smaller by piece count than Hogwarts Castle (71043), but it covers a broader view of the site in one compact display. A removable section reveals rooms below the buildings, adding interior references without changing the exterior scale. The included Hogwarts Architect minifigure is displayed separately from the tiny inhabitants of the grounds.

10. The Burrow – Collectors’ Edition (76437)
The Burrow – Collectors’ Edition closes the ranking with 2,405 pieces. Released in 2024, it recreates the Weasley family home as an intentionally uneven, stacked building surrounded by a small section of garden.
The domestic subject sets it apart from the institutional buildings and shopping streets above it. Although tenth here, it has more pieces than many earlier flagship Harry Potter sets; 2,405 pieces is simply the current cutoff for this list. The irregular floors preserve the house’s recognisable outline while leaving its family rooms accessible.

Conclusion
Hogwarts Castle remains first at 6,020 pieces, while Diagon Alley and the collectors’ Hogwarts Express also exceed 5,000. New releases have reshaped the middle of the list: the Ministry of Magic and Hogsmeade Village now sit ahead of Hogwarts Icons, and the 2025 Diagon Alley shops enter at number eight.
Piece count provides a reproducible order, not a verdict on scale or detail. The microscale castles, minifigure-scale streets and large display train use their pieces in fundamentally different ways.
