Which Lego® sets retire at the end of 2026?
As of early October 2026, our catalogue lists around 450 sets with a 2026 retirement date. About 130 of them already left Lego's range in the summer. Around 280 carry the status "Retiring Soon", most of them with December 2026 as the expected month; for the rest, our 2026 date is an estimate that Lego has not confirmed yet. The complete list with prices is above; the twelve sets below are a cross-section of the display models leaving in December, from large Ideas builds to smaller Technic and Botanical sets.

Lego® Star Wars sets retiring in 2026
Star Wars is one of the two biggest themes on the 2026 list, with 34 sets. The headline retirement is the Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon (75192): it has been on sale since 2017 and is flagged for December 2026. Three more Ultimate Collector Series models are due to leave at the same time, the Venator (75367), Jabba's Sail Barge (75397) and the TIE Interceptor (75382), along with playsets such as the Dark Falcon (75389) and the Republic Juggernaut (75413).
Lego rarely brings back a retired Ultimate Collector Series model unchanged. A subject tends to return years later as a new design instead: the TIE Interceptor on this list is a redesign of a model from the first Ultimate Collector Series wave in 2000. If one of these ships is on your wish list, compare current offers before the December wave rather than counting on a re-release.

How Lego® retirement works
Lego produces every set for a limited time. When production ends, the set leaves Lego's own range: it disappears from Lego.com and the Lego Stores and is then considered retired. Other retailers can keep selling the boxes they still have, so a retired set does not vanish from every shop on the same day.
Lego does not publish a retirement schedule in advance. In the final months it marks the affected sets on its website as "Retiring soon" and collects them on its own last-chance page, both in the US Lego Shop and in the UK Lego Shop. Brickfact set pages show the status together with the expected month, for example "Retiring Soon (12/2026)". Once the set has gone, the status changes to "Retired".
How long a set stays on sale varies a lot. More than half of the sets on our 2026 list only came out the year before, so many sets are gone after one or two years. Large display models often stay longer: the Millennium Falcon mentioned above has been available for nine years.
Two retirement waves: summer and year-end
Most retirements happen in two batches. The smaller one comes in the middle of the year; the main one runs until 31 December. That pattern held in 2026: about 130 sets on our list retired in the summer wave, which ran until the end of July, while most of the roughly 280 "Retiring Soon" sets are due in December.
A retirement date is not a guarantee that stock lasts until then. Lego usually stops production beforehand and sells what is left while supplies last. In the US, the Great Deku Tree (77092) was no longer available in June 2026, weeks before the summer wave ended. The year-end wave also overlaps with Black Friday and Christmas, when demand for large sets peaks.
Retiring sets by theme
The filters above the list let you narrow it down to a single theme. Here is what the December 2026 wave means for the main display themes.
Icons and Botanicals
Several large Lego Icons models are flagged, including the NASA Artemis Space Launch System (10341), the Tranquil Garden (10315) and the Lamborghini Countach (10337). Some of the earlier plant sets from the Botanical Collection are leaving too, among them the Succulents (10309), the Wreath (10340) and the Poinsettia (10370). The Flower Bouquet (10280) already retired in the summer, after more than five years on sale. Lego now releases its flower and plant sets in a theme of their own, Lego Botanicals, so newer arrangements are available if a favourite has gone.
Technic
The December list includes several car models from the Technic range: the Mercedes-Benz G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line (42177), the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (42173), the Ford GT (42154) and the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance (42171). The Ferrari Daytona SP3 (42143) left in the summer.
Ideas
Lego Ideas has some of the longest-running sets on the list. The Grand Piano (21323) has been available for six years. The Botanical Garden (21353), The Starry Night (21333), the Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera (21345), the River Steamboat (21356) and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (21360) are also flagged for December.
Harry Potter, Architecture and Art
From the Harry Potter range, The Burrow – Collectors' Edition (76437) is due to retire, while Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall (76435) already left in the summer. From Architecture, Himeji Castle (21060) is on the list, and the Lego Art range loses Keith Haring – Dancing Figures (31216).
Buy now or wait? Prices before and after retirement
Retirement changes supply, not demand. While retailers still have stock, a retiring set can still be on offer, sometimes below its list price. After that, you depend on the remaining stock and on private sellers.
Our study of Lego® prices after retirement followed more than 3,000 sealed sets. Their estimated market value was a median 6.9% higher three months after the retirement month, 22.3% higher after twelve months and 41.0% higher after two years. Almost one in five sets showed no increase after a year, so retirement is no guarantee that a particular set gains value.
What that means in practice:
- If you want a set for your own shelf or as a gift, buy it while it is still sold new. After retirement, prices usually rise rather than fall.
- If you buy to resell, calculate with your own purchase price, fees and storage costs rather than with a median. Our guide to investing in Lego® explains the basics, and we have picked sets retiring in 2026 under €30, under €50 and under €100.
- If a set has already retired, the Lego® Value Checker shows its estimated value and price history before you pay a secondary-market price.
Lego® retirement: frequently asked questions
What does "retiring soon" mean for a Lego® set?
It means Lego plans to take the set out of its range within the next few months. Lego shows the label on its own website. On Brickfact, the set page shows "Retiring Soon" with the expected month. Until then, you can still buy the set new from Lego, as long as stock lasts.
When do the Lego® sets on this list retire?
Most sets on the 2026 list are due to retire at the end of December 2026. A smaller group retires in the summer. Lego does not announce exact dates, and expected dates are estimates that can change.
How long are Lego® sets usually available?
There is no fixed rule. Many sets are on sale for one to two years; large display models and best-sellers can stay much longer. The expected month on each Brickfact set page is the most reliable guide for a specific set.
How can I tell whether a Lego® set has retired?
Check its Brickfact set page: retired sets show the status "Retired". Lego.com no longer sells retired sets, although other retailers may still have stock for a while.
Will Lego® bring a retired set back?
Rarely in the same form. Lego more often releases a new version of a popular subject years later, with a new set number and a different design.
Do Lego® sets always go up in price after retirement?
No. In our study, the median estimated value rose after retirement, but almost one in five sets showed no increase after twelve months. The results also differed considerably between retirement years.
Where can I buy retiring Lego® sets at the best price?
Compare the offers in the list above: each set shows the lowest price we currently track, and its set page lists the offers from every retailer we cover.
