Lego® Insiders Program: The new loyalty program from LEGO®
On August 21, 2023, the well-known Lego® VIP program was renamed the new Lego Insiders program. The aim of this change is to improve the customer experience and unify different Lego platforms under a single login.
The new Insiders program will allow users to continue earning points for their purchases, with existing VIP points being transferred and retained. Another new feature is the ability to scan QR codes on Lego instructions to earn Insider points. These adjustments not only make the program more user-friendly, but also offer more flexibility and reward opportunities for Lego fans worldwide.
What is the Lego® Insiders Programme?
With the Lego® VIP programme, you have the opportunity to collect valuable points with every official purchase at Lego. It is important to know that you only collect points when you buy directly from Lego. This includes:
- Lego Online Shop or its customer service
- Lego offline stores
The points collected are credited to your digital customer card in the Lego VIP area. The points can later be exchanged for rewards or vouchers, for example.
Get free points
In addition to the method of collecting VIP points described above, there are other ways to get the coveted points. Occasionally, you will find promotions in your VIP area on the Lego® website. Here, you can complete small tasks and receive loyalty points. For example, you will be asked about your favourite Lego theme or you can follow the brick company on its social media channels.

Get the most out of your purchases with Insiders membership! One thing in advance: participation is completely free and uncomplicated. Once registered, you can only benefit. No matter how often and in what quantities you buy. As a member of the Lego VIP programme, you can expect the following benefits:
1.Collect Insiders points
As you have already experienced, you collect Insiders points with every official purchase in the Lego® Online Shop or its customer service, in offline stores or in Legoland. The whole process is uncomplicated and has only advantages. The points you collect can later be exchanged for rewards.
2. VIP Gifts
Occasionally, VIPs receive exclusive gifts or GWPs with their purchase. Some GWPs are also good investments. These are usually sold out very quickly and are extremely popular with Lego® fans. The GWPs are often tied to a minimum purchase value, for example, the 5006746 Ship Swing Ride was free in late summer 2021 with a purchase value of $85 or more.
3. Digital VIP card and rewards centre
Your digital VIP card serves as a points store. You can download it to your smartphone or view your points online in the VIP area. The points can be exchanged for vouchers or rewards in the rewards centre.
4. Exclusive competitions
Exclusive competitions offer you the chance to win great rewards. For Black Friday in 2020 and 2021, for example, Lego® gave away 1,000,000 VIP points to participating VIP members. Often the competitions are free of charge, but occasionally you have to redeem VIP points to enter.
5. VIP Promotions & Promotion Periods
So-called VIP weekends take place at regular intervals, during which you benefit twice! In addition to exclusive GWPs, you collect double VIP points with your purchases and receive special offers.
6. Earlier access to new Lego® sets
With new releases, Insiders members often have the opportunity to access sets earlier. This way you can be one of the first to enjoy Lego novelties.

So that you can benefit from the advantages today, we show you how the registration process works.
Online registration
If you do not yet have a Lego® customer account, you should create one here. After registering, you will be assigned a Lego ID, which allows you to shop in the online shop. It is also required for the VIP registration.
Simply log in to the Lego website. At the top right you will find the tab "My account". Here you can set up your customer account.

- Alternatively, you can use the Insiders page. The advantages of membership are also summarised here. You log in with your standard account and set up the VIP membership.
Registration in the Lego® Store
Of course, it is also possible to apply for VIP membership in one of the Lego stores. After your membership has been set up by a member of staff, you will receive an e-mail which only needs to be confirmed by you.
Telephone registration
Last but not least, you can also apply for Insiders membership by phone. Here, too, you will receive all details by email after successful registration, in which your account and your VIP card will also be confirmed.
Redeem VIP points? Here's how
Your points account is full and waiting to be plundered? You have a few options to choose from.
To ensure that you don't miss out on anything when collecting points, it is important to pay attention to the following:
- Always be logged in with your customer account when making purchases.
- Don't forget to enter your 9-digit VIP number when making a purchase on the Hotline or in the Offline Store.
Redemption options
You can redeem your collected VIP points for various rewards. The current points balance can be found either on the digital Lego® VIP card or in the dashboard of the VIP area on the website. For every $1 you spend, you will receive 7.5 points. This corresponds to a 5% discount on your purchases. In the case of double VIP point promotions, the discount is even 10%.
The rewards change regularly, so we recommend subscribing to the Lego newsletter to keep up to date. This will inform you about upcoming offers and promotions.
These Lego® VIP rewards are available
The selection of possible rewards is huge and constantly changing. In the rewards centre of the VIP area you will find many rewards that you can redeem for VIP points. In addition to digital content, physical items such as VIP sets or key rings are also available. Please note that physical rewards are often strictly limited and can be sold out quickly. You will find certain requirements or restrictions in the small print.
Vouchers for the Lego® Shop
You can redeem your Insiders points for vouchers that can be used for future orders. The following vouchers are available:
- $5 voucher for 750 points
- $20 voucher for 3,000 points
- $50 voucher for 7,500 points
- $100 voucher for 15,000 points
You can use the vouchers for your next purchase at Lego. The points can be converted into vouchers for the online shop or for the Lego stores and the order hotline.

You can easily calculate the monetary value of your points as follows:
Available points : 150 = value in USD
Exclusive VIP rewards
The list of possible VIP rewards is long, and there are always great opportunities to redeem your points for small Lego® sets, key rings, colouring pictures etc.
In 2020, for example, the 40335 Space Rocket Ride was available as a VIP premium for 1,650 points in the premium centre.
Tickets
Let's go and have fun! Adventurous Lego® fans can also redeem their points for tickets to the Legoland Discovery Center or one of the Legoland parks.
- Legoland Park ticket for 4,000 points
- Legoland Discovery Center ticket for 1,500 points
Can my points expire?
If you are inactive in the Lego® Insiders area for 18 months and do not redeem points or collect new points through purchases, your points will expire. Before this happens, you will be notified by Lego.
