Three waves in the first year

Lego released the theme in three steps:

  • 27 February 2026: Eevee (72151, 587 pieces), Pikachu and Poké Ball (72152, 2,050 pieces) and Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (72153, 6,838 pieces), three display models for adults.
  • 1 August 2026: twelve SMART Play sets for children aged 6 and older, plus the display models Munchlax (72150), Arcanine (72160) and Rayquaza (72168).
  • 1 October 2026: the Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball (72154) and the Up-Scaled Red Minifigure (40868).

SMART Play or display model?

The SMART Play sets respond to play with light, sound and movement, without a screen. Only the two all-in-one sets, Training House with Pikachu (72164) and Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle (72167), include everything the interactive play needs; the other ten are compatible sets that build on them. The large models such as Pikachu and Poké Ball are designed for adults (18+) and have no electronics.

Prices on 4 October 2026

US prices stayed close to the recommended retail price: only 3 of the 20 Pokémon sets with a US offer and a known RRP were at least 5% cheaper. UK shops discounted more. Eevee cost £38.99 instead of £54.99, and 9 of 19 sets were at least 5% below RRP. No Pokémon set is marked as retiring soon yet. The list above always shows today's best price.
